Nomination of the project of the FA BUT and TU Wien for the DZS 2024 Award in the category Sustainability
The project Regionale Metropolen und ihre Entwicklung im Rahmen der Raumordnung in Österreich und Mähren (Regional metropolises and their development in the framework of spatial planning in Austria and Moravia), implemented in cooperation with Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien), has been nominated for the DZS 2024 Award in the Sustainability category.
This is the seventh year that the House of International Cooperation (DZS) has awarded this prize, which recognises successful projects and individuals who are advancing international education in the Czech Republic. The DZS Awards aim to raise the profile of inspiring examples of good practice and motivate other organisations to engage in international education activities. International education is perceived as a path to a more open, responsible and sustainable society.
The project was selected by DZS as an exemplary educational international activity in the Sustainability category. The nomination itself is a prestigious award for the Faculty of Architecture, and also a recognition of our long-term cooperation with TU Wien. The project is presented in the proceedings of the DZS 2024 Award nominees.
On the festive afternoon in the Rudolfinum, where the award ceremony took place, was present on this occasion, on behalf of the FA BUT, doc. Ing. arch. Karel Havliš.
About the project Regionale Metropolen und ihre Entwicklung im Rahmen der Raumordnung in Österreich und Mähren
The project addressed the question of how to teach urban planning and spatial planning in a modern way. Architecture faculties from Brno and Vienna joined forces to bring new approaches and perspectives to the teaching of regional policy and spatial development. The focus was on sharing knowledge and experience in topics such as the development of metropolitan regions, sustainable strategies or the Smart City concept.
